On behalf of the Executive Scientific Committee, we are delighted to welcome you to the 4th International Conference on Data-Driven Plasma Science (ICDDPS-4), which will be held at Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST), Okinawa, Japan, from 16 to 21 April, 2023. The goal of the Conference is for the participants to discuss the latest research results in data-driven science (such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, image processing, data mining, etc.) applied to plasma science and technologies, including, but not limited to, plasma processing and nuclear fusion. Thanks to the recent advancement of sophisticated diagnostics techniques and first-principle computer simulations, the amount of data that one accumulates in research is increasing exponentially. Plasma scientists should take full advantage of, and may even contribute to, the latest development of data-driven science and find a way to extract essential information efficiently from such data. This year, the ICDDPS-4 will be held concurrently with the 14th EU-Japan Joint Symposium on Plasma Processing (JSPP-14). The registered participants of the ICDDPS-4 are also welcome to attend the sessions of the JSPP-14 free of charge. We hope that you will enjoy the conference and find it useful for your future research.
